Wallisellen, Switzerland - Independent testing, has confirmed the efficacy of a suite of Ecolab hygiene and disinfectant products against the virus that causes COVID-19. Ecolab’s Skinman Soft Protect FF, a high-quality, alcohol-based hand rub, and surface disinfectant Sirafan Speed, were both proven effective against the virus that causes COVID-19 in this testing coordinated through Dr Brill & Partner GmbH and carried out by by the Ruhr University Bochum, in Germany.

Effective hand hygiene and surface cleaning are critical in preventing the spread of viral infection. According to several scientific studies12, SARS-CoV-2 is estimated to survive several days on skin and on surfaces. Frequent cleaning and disinfection of surfaces and proper hand hygiene have been identified as critical measures to help stop the spread of SARS-CoV-2, according to the World Health Organization3.

Skinman Soft Protect FF is a liquid, alcohol-based hand rub with a unique, skin-friendly formulation with full virucidal efficacy in 30 seconds according to EN 14476. It is effective against bacteria, yeasts and viruses. This high-quality formulation delivers essential skin protection through its moisturising and skin regeneration properties.

Sirafan Speed is a ready-to-use, no-rinse rapid surface disinfectant with a broad efficacy against bacteria, fungi and enveloped viruses. The combined action of its active ingredients provides quick acting disinfection on food contact-surfaces such as preparation tables, cutters and slicers.

Ecolab also supplies a wide range of other hand hygiene and surface disinfection products, which, like these two products, are compliant with the European Biocide Product Regulations, EN 14476, meaning they are effective against enveloped viruses, including coronaviruses.
